ECSC is an annual event organized by ENISA (European Union Agency for Cybersecurity), which brings together talented young people from all over Europe to participate in various challenges and competitions related to cybersecurity. ECSC aims to encourage the next generation of cybersecurity professionals to develop their skills and knowledge and create a platform for them to network and share ideas with their peers. Partner of the initiative for the Burgas Region is the University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov".
ECSC offers a variety of challenges that test participants' technical skills, problem-solving skills and teamwork. The challenges are designed to mimic real-world scenarios and give participants hands-on experience in dealing with cybersecurity issues. Participants will have the opportunity to show their abilities and compete for various prizes from ENISA.
ECSC is open to students and young people between the ages of 14 and 25 who are interested in cybersecurity. The participants are divided into two categories 14 to 20 years and 21 to 25 years. Each team is formed by a maximum of 5 adults (between the ages of 21–25), with no restrictions on the number of juniors (between the ages of 14 and 20). The team can consist of a maximum of 10 participants, who must have Bulgarian citizenship.
Participants are selected based on their technical skills, cybersecurity interests, and their desire to advance in the cybersecurity field.
In addition to the competitions, the ECSC also offers a range of training and education opportunities to participants. The event provides a platform for young people to learn from experts in the field and gain a deeper understanding of cybersecurity issues and trends.
The ECSC is one of the most important events in the European cybersecurity calendar, organized every October in a different EU member state as part of the worldwide cybersecurity month. The event attracts participants from all over Europe and provides them with a unique opportunity to develop their skills and network with colleagues and experts in the field.
Cyber Security Challenge Bulgaria (CSCB) is a national initiative in Bulgaria supported by ENISA and the Ministry of Electronic Government. The aim of the initiative is to organize annual qualifying competitions in the country to select the best ten young people to represent Bulgaria at the ECSC.
The first qualifying round for Bulgaria will be on March 18-19.
