Mayor Dimitar Nikolov opened today at the International Congress Center the conference Burgas Digital 2021. It is dedicated to high technologies in the field of artificial intelligence, robotics, Industry 4.0, the concept of smart cities and innovative methods in education.
One of the goals of the forum is to bring together business, science, entrepreneurship, local government and professional organizations in the region of Southeast Bulgaria. The conference was attended by the Commercial Attaché of the US Embassy in Bulgaria Stanislava Dimitrova and Karina Angelieva - Deputy Minister of Education and Science.
The pilot edition of Burgas Digital is organized by the Municipality of Burgas and Sofia Tech Park, in partnership with the Professional Association of Robotics and Automation (PARA), ICT Cluster - Burgas, the School Board of the Professional High School of Computer Programming and Innovation - Burgas, Industrial Logistics Park - Burgas, Southeast Digital Innovation Hub, University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov ”- Burgas, Burgas Free University, American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria.
The meeting was held under the motto "Robotics, new technologies, digital business" and aimed to present the opinion and experience of experts, to demonstrate excellence in the field of robotics and digitalization.
Visitors of all ages had the opportunity to see and interact with different types of robots from industry and education.
Lecturers of the event were prominent representatives of business, academia and industry associations.
During the event were demonstrated solutions in the field of automation and robotics, virtual reality and smart cities from "FANUC" - Bulgaria, "Telelink Business Services", University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov ”,“ Rapid Progress ”,“ Ondo ”,“ Giga Automata ”, the educational startup“ Tinusaver ”and the students from the Vocational High School of Computer Programming and Innovations, who are studying in the specialty“ Programming of Artificial Intelligence ”.
The role of artificial intelligence in public policies was also discussed during the event, which is the main topic of the AI4PublicPolicy project, implemented by the Municipality of Burgas with the financial support of the Horizon 2020 program.
Most of the participating companies are part of the School Board of the Vocational School of Computer Programming and Innovation. Their representatives toured the school's new building and met with its students.
